This is a step in the right direction. This is how air mounts should work in the first place. Call them with a flare, wait for them to appear, mount up and then go wherever you want. Something like Fallout 4 Vertibirds, just faster. No matter what Blizz does, WoW will always be a game where stuff happens on the ground. More «ground time» is always appreciated. IMO, flying mounts should be as fast as the taxi, but landing and land movement should also be relevant.

indeed Kurokun14. First they didn’t wanted to give ability to fly in WoD, than they drop that idea after community made some pressure.
Now, giving this ability and only with 5min CD? damn its better than walking / flying to the nearest flight master by my self, I might make some macros / add-on to take my char wherever I need… (I’m being sarcastic).

Please Blizzard don’t be from 8 to 80! (don’t give less and than / or, give too much).
This item need to be removed or have to be tweaked, by giving a bigger CD on it.

Did you lose this handy little whistle? Talk to Верховный маг Кадгар in the Violet Citadel, Dalaran to get another (In Legion).

Edit: In BFA, once you reach max level, you can use this in Zandalar and Kul’Tiras. When unlocking World Quests in Zandalar and Kul’Tiras, Halford Wyrmbane or Nathanos Blightcaller will now give you a fresh Flight Master’s Whistle if you left yours in the bank (or deleted it, I’m assuming).

This item only applies to known flight paths within the current zone.
Don’t try to use it to collect undiscovered ones, and be careful about using it near zone-borders so that you end up in the zone you want to.

Tried it at the Lair of the Deposed in Azsuna, and it sent me back to Azurewing Repose because I didn’t have the Challiane’s Terrace FP already unlocked, despite the Terrace being closer.
Just to double-check the results, I tried it on the Isle of the Watchers in a cavern (Withered J’im’s, on an off-week) directly under the undiscovered Watchers’ Aerie flightmaster. Took me back to Wardens’ Redoubt.

To test the zoning, it also took me to Starsong Refuge when I tried blowing the whistle at the bottom of Sylvan Falls despite being closer to the flight point in Highmountain.

Hunters, beware. This item will port you to the Eagle Flight Network if that’s the closest flight master, which will severely limit your available flight points..

I read the comments, and I have no clue what you guys talking about, I did this in Suramar on my 1st try and this was my 1st world quest as well as I just unlocked them. Did it with 4 min left on the timer, just picked a direction and followed the road staying int he yellow circle, if I was at the edge or coming to it, I would take the first turn and keep going. Just one big circle on the road.

Beware!

If you end up in a group where the leader is in a different realm than yours and then use this item whilst leaving the group, it will not work — you will then be phasing out into your own realm, and your cooldown will be used!

It will also not work if you use this item and then get in combat, again the cooldown will be used, as it isn’t meant to be working in combat.
I discovered this when I used the whistle in the Suramar city and then I was detected by the guards, who then came up to me and slapped my gryphon off me right before it sent me away.

Can be killed if PvP flagged. When killed, the riders screen turns black for the zone transition and they are left vulnerable and blinded by it for a few seconds and go nowhere.

Just used it in Azsuna at Challiane’s Terrace, was brought to the Sylvan Falls flightpoint in Highmountain, which is weird.

You can get ported to Meredil if you use this in Suramar city on an alt that doesn’t have Shal’aran (or other flight points) unlocked, but the flight master won’t be available.
Edit: flight master appears to be available now, even if you haven’t started the Suramar questline on a character (not sure if this only applies with account-wide progress)

Not certain if this is intended or not, but patch 7.3.0 now has the whistle immediately placed on cool down rather than after you’ve finished the cast.

Edit: Sept. 5 Hotfix: «Flight Master’s Whistle should no longer go on cooldown if the cast is canceled.»

Today (10/6/17) my upgraded Flight Master’s Whistle is not working in the Broken Isles. Even after going to a different zone, reloading my UI, and then exiting and re-logging into the game, I still am getting a «you are in the wrong zone» error message in the Broken Isles. Hopefully no-one else is running into this?

Can bug out if you leave grp after using it and phase. You will not get ported, but the CD will still be there.

DO NOT discard this after you learn flying in the Broken Isles. You can get an upgrade to the item Крокульская флейта which makes this item useful on Argus. (You need to be revered with Argussian Reach to acquire it.)

If you did discard it, you can get a replacement from Верховный маг Кадгар in Dalaran.

If you max a character do NOT open flight paths apart the central one. Whenever you are done with an emissary you use this to get to the hand in location from anywhere in the zone 🙂

As of BFA pre-patch, you can no longer teleport to Highmountain when using it in Druid class-hall in Val’sharah, it sends you to the class-hall flightmaster instead, really unnecessary nerf for driuds.

Unlocking World Quests

• In order to unlock world quests, you must meet the following requirements:
  
  1. Establish all 3 footholds on the enemy continent by advancing on the War Campaign.

     These steps can be done while leveling, but the first, second and third foothold require levels 110, 114, and 118 respectively.

  2. Be at least Friendly reputation with all 3 base Battle of Azeroth factions

When doing world quests (on another realm), never ever blow the whistle and during its working, leave group. You will leave the group, the realm and lose the whistle effect (= not be ported to the flight master) but the cooldown still counts.

In case anyone has issues using it on Argus after 8.1 … Make sure to use it on the character that unlocked it (bought the item from the quartermaster). After I used it there once, it started working on alts again.

I hope they fix the issue of the flight whistle taking you to a place where there is no flight master. It is pointless to take me some where that I cannot fly out of. I did everything on my main and have done all quests and exploration on that toon and I do not want to go back through each zone and do the quest chains just to unlock a flight master on alts..I don’t mind unlocking the flight paths through missions and such but I do not want it to take me to one where I cannot fly out of it. It is stupid as can be to make alts do the same crap again just to have access to a flight master. I would even be happy with it taking me to a distant flight master as long as the npc was there so I could fly out.

I wonder if they’ll eventually create a sort of drop down menu for hearthstones instead of wasting 3 slots, it could just be a spell and you select if you want dalaran, garrison, or standard hearth.

The original hearthstone can be a toy, through archeology, the Innkeepers daughter a dwarf artifact has replaced my hearthstone for years. But still have the garrison and dalaran one.

Is this an auto unlock or do you have to talk to someone first on your alt? My warlock is lvl 120 and has flight whistle and world quests, but when I log in with my Paladin world quests are not there and my whistle dont work.

Доступна только для 100 уровня персонажей. 🙂 Дается за этот квест Союз фракций + открывает доступ к локальным заданиям всех фракций Локальные задания Очень удобный свисток .Имеет небольшое кд и нажав на него,вас забирает птица и отправляет на ближайшую станцию такси.Для этого,надо получить дружелюбие со всеми фракциями, выполнив хотя бы изначально не большие цепочки заданий в разных локаций . В дальнейшем ,за выполнение локальных заданий вы будите качать репутацию на протяжении всего времени .

Квест, дающий доступ к Локальным заданиям Расколотых островов. Локальные задания — это легионовский аналог дейликов.
Как ни крути, но квест обязателен и необходим. Получается автоматически, как только вы апаете персонажа до 110-го уровня.

Собственно как выполнить. Вам нужно получить репутацию «хотя бы дружелюбие« с каждой фракцией расколотых островов.
Штормхейм — Валарьяры
Крутогорье — Племена Крутогорья
Валь’шара — Ткачи Снов
Азсуна — Двор Фарондиса
Сурамар — Помраченные
Репутация даётся за квестинг (во время прокачки или так бегая и выполняя задания). Т.к. в конце квестовых цепочек Вы получаете один из столпов созидания, то квестинг, как бы, необходим.
Идя напролом по квестам, т.е. исключительно основная цепочка столпа созидания, вы получите Дружелюбие с фракцией. Те кто решит дополнительно сделать второстепенные квесты — на выходе получит Уважение фракции.

Помраченные немного отличаются от остальных. Вам нужно выполнить частичноПомрачены, но не забыты и Добрый сурамаритянин.

в гробу я такие квесты видал. что б здох тот кто его придумал. это ж надо было до такого додуматься. и вот чо мне теперь делать? я прокачался на соратниках и ни делал ни одного задания нигде и чо теперь делать? все подряд квесты во вссех зонах? да вы ухи объелись что ли?

Видимо, в обновлении 7.1 изменили условия выполнения квеста, так как свежеапнутый альт, имеющий репутацию «дружелюбие» с Валарьярами, Крутогорьем, Ткачами и Фарондисом, получил Свисток распорядителя полетов и доступ к локальным заданиям ещё до того, как начал выполнять цепочку Кадгара След эха на поиск Талисры.

Obtaining Friendly or higher with every Broken Isles faction rewards this quest flag, which unlocks World Quests for one character. It also awards Свисток распорядителя полетов, which will take you to the nearest flight master from anywhere in the Broken Isles once every 5 minutes.

How to unlock World Quests:

Союз фракций has 5 objectives, each one is to raise your reputation to friendly with a Boken Isles faction:

How to Begin:

• Once the quest Союз фракций is completed, icons will indicate the quest location on the zone map
  (only Broken Isles zones has world quests, you won’t find them on Kalindor for instance).
• Go to the desired map and quest location, once there, you shall receive the quest and you’re ready to start doing it.

Facts:

• There is no NPC to give or deliver a world quest.
• They are automatically accepted when you approach the quest location.
• The quest does give you rewards at the moment you complete it.
• The quest Союз фракций is per-character (you need to complete it on each ton you wanna do world quests).

Faction Quests:

• Each 24H you receive a new faction quest.
• These quests has a 72H life span.
• You can have at a maximum of 3 faction quests at once.
• Each faction quest has an objective of completing 4 world quests for them.
• Each world quest has a faction, you can see which faction a quest belongs by reading its tooltip header. Faction quests also has an highlight border when its faction is selected on the Bounty Board.
• When a faction quest is completed, you must go to faction’s quartermaster to delivery it. The faction’s quartermaster location is indicated on the zone map with a ‘?’ mark.

Rewards, Rarity and Quest Types:
World Quests can give you several diferente types of rewards:

• Artifact Power
• Class Hall Resources
• Equipment
• Gold
• Pet Battle Charms
• Profession Materials (depends on your character profession)
• Trade Skill Materials (Кровь Саргераса)

They are also subdivided by Types:

• Common
• PVP
• Profession
• Dungeon
• Pet Battle

World Quests haave 3 tiers of rarity:

• Epic: where the objective is to kill a world boss.
• Rare: usually dungeon quests.
• Common: any other quest.

Artifact Research Notes:
You want to start researching Записи об артефакте at your class hall as soon as possible.
The artifact power reward from World Quests are greatly increased for each Записи об артефакте you have used.

Class Hall Perk:
Each class hall can be ‘upgraded’ with ‘Order Advancement‘ perks, these can be researched at the ‘Class Hall Upgrades npc.
One of these upgrades is the ability to complete a World Quest at your choise once every 3 days, each class hall has a different name for this upgrade.

3rd Party Mods:
All world quest mods tested does basically the same thing showing a list of available quests.
The one that outstand is World Quest Tracker, it has a «not-bunch-of-text-to-read» way to show available quests and has its own tracker to organize which quests you wanna do.

Just for clarification, World Quests appear on your standard map (reached by hitting «M»), rather than your scouting map in your Order Hall. As such, you can see what World Quests are available from anywhere.

If you’re already at level 110 but still get this quest, go and log on to a character that has already completed it.
Then you should have the quest automatically completed when relogging to your alt.

If you don’t have this quest auto pop up for you when you hit 110 (and you think it should since all your alts have flying, WQ, etc), you have to actually go to Khadger and pick it up.

I skipped most Legion content and am now in back-fill mode at 120. I was able to complete this without Friendly with Valarjar. This is my only 120, and my old main (111) only had Friendly with Court of Farondis. No other relevant characters.

Don’t know if you can skip other Friendly reps previously required for this, or if being 120 is a factor.

Hit 110 today and am only friendly with the Dreamweavers, neutral with Court of Farondis and Valajar, and haven’t even opened relations with Highmountain and The Nightfallen. I was able to accept and complete this quest with only the one friendly rep.

Wowhead Client — это небольшая программа, с помощью которой мы поддерживаем базу данных в актуальном состоянии. Пользователи Wowhead Client получают доступ к дополнительным инструментам на сайте.  

Клиент Wowhead делает две вещи:  

1. Он устанавливает и обновляет аддон Wowhead Looter, который собирает данные, пока вы играете!  

2. Он загружает собранные данные на Wowhead, обновляя базу данных!  

Вы также можете использовать Wowhead Client, чтобы просматривать выученные рецепты, выполненные задания, собранные ездовые животные и спутники и полученные звания!

I wonder if they’ll eventually create a sort of drop down menu for hearthstones instead of wasting 3 slots, it could just be a spell and you select if you want dalaran, garrison, or standard hearth.\r

I kinda like your idea for hearthstones! There are just so many things that take up bag space these days anything would help.

All I wish is that there had been some kind of attached announcement so that I had known this without watching Twitter feed! Without searching for it! A quest reward would have been easy. A week of running, it’s not that pretty out there 😛

Not necessarily account bound yet, I have two characters at 120 a mage and a druid, the mage unlocked the world quests first, but the druid still had to have the friendly rep first before Uniting Kul»Tiras popped up to complete that unlocks the world quests and whistle.

Same issue — my main is 120 and nearly exalted with all factions — got an alt to 120 and no world quests and no whistle upgrade — what else do I need to do?

The flight master’s whistle is not account wide. \r
I just leveled my Lok. All the way. 2nd toon to do so. NO WHISTLE\r
.This unlock is account-wide, meaning all your alts will automatically have access to World Quests at 120 after you unlock them once.

To get the upgrade after the first character, you have to talk to Nathanos @ the Banshee’s Wail (Ship at dock) in Dazar’Alor (Horde) on alliance is probably the relative npc that gives the war campaign quests.

Agreed. This statement, which was only meant to be for World Quests not for the Whistle, should not be in this article that is supposed to be about the Whistle. Can Wowhead please remove this confusing statement and put it elsewhere?

At first I didn’t think my whistle had upgraded to Kul Tiras upon reaching 120, I had the world quest but didn’t see anything related to the whistle. I just tried it and it worked. The mouse over info did not mention Kul Tiras or Zandalar like I thought it did, maybe a change? But it works , try it.

Why not make the location specific hearthstones toys too. Just leave the one we can set at inns as an actual hearthstone.\r

Why not make them all toys. That way you don’t need to keep one in your bags, just open the toy box and put it on an empty slot, hearth, then destroy it. This would save two things really. A bag slot, which at times is a highly sought after commodity. And second, for those rare cases when someone loses their hearthstone, they don’t have to manually find an inn to get a replacement. Again, just open the toy box and place it (last inn being already set) on an empty slot.

Sadly, after reaching 120 for the 14th time, not only do I not see the world quests on this alt, but the flight whistle doesn’t work in Kul’Tiras nor Zandalar. Also, for some reason, the whistle isn’t working in Argus for many of my alts anymore, even though it worked great all though Legions with them. As I don’t do a lot on Argus anymore, I have been dragging my feet putting in a ticket about it. I guess, now that it’s affecting BfA on this alt, I am a little more motivated to place that ticket.
