And this followed seven days of silence. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. It is those who are headed for damnation (90009 90008 «who go down to the pit» 90011 90010). The unrepentant sinners who have no fear or understanding of God. David makes his case by reminding God of his prayer and worship of The Lord. He is proclaiming his belief in God as the sovereign ruler of his life. But those who are wicked, workers of sin, deceitful (90009 90008 «they speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts» 90011 90010), and do not acknowledge God (90008 90009 «they regard not the works of the LORD , nor the operation of his hands.. » 90010 90011), they do not receive a Word from The Lord. And their ultimate end is destruction. So again, it’s clear that the silence of God precedes devastating judgment. 90003 90002 Psalm 50 provides a stern warning: 90003 90006 90002 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. 90009 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence 90010; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. — Psalm 50: 16-22. 90003 90013 90002 90003 90002 So again we see the pattern: rebellion against God, that rebellion reaching an extreme limit, silence from God, then judgment.Here God Himself, speaking through the Psalmist warns the sinner in deep rebellion that if they continue to forget God, they will be torn in pieces with no chance of deliverance. 90003 90016 90009 The Wrath of God In Revelation 90010 90019 90002 With these prophetic types and precepts the understanding of the silence in heaven becomes clearer: 90003 90006 90002 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.- Revelation 8: 1-2. 90003 90013 90002 In this future event that takes place during the end times the seven trumpets given to the angels who stand before The Lord each bring forth devastating judgments to the people on Earth. The trumpets, along with the vial judgments that follow, are the true outpouring of God’s wrath. The Earth itself will be damaged and poisoned, millions upon millions suffer and perish. The trumpets will be discussed in much more detailed in later installments of this series, but the point to understand is that just as it was in the days of Noah, and as it was at the battle of Jericho, the silence of God comes before He is preparing to unleash His wrath.90003 90016 90009 Is The Silence In Heaven Really For A Half Hour? 90010 90019 90002 It is this author’s contention that the silence in Heaven is not actually for 30 minutes. Hence the Scripture saying 90009 90008 «about the space of half an hour.» 90011 90010 The Apostle John makes the point that he is not marking an exact duration of time. Could the sequence of events be the 6th Seal with its Rapture, global earthquake and stellar signs, the opening of the 7th seal and then seven days of silence before The Lord’s wrath begins with the blowing of the trumpets and their unprecedented judgments on Earth? While this author will 90009 not 90010 be dogmatic and say it’s definitely so, the consistency is there.At the flood in Genesis, the silence of God was for seven days. At Jericho, there were seven days of silence until the city was circles seven times. In Revelation, the seventh seal is open, which leads to the silence and then seven angels are given seven trumpets to unleash God’s wrath. The types and shadows of Scripture certainly give some credence to the idea. 90003 90016 90009 Pray For God To Not Be Silent 90010 90019 90002 If God seems silent in your life, cry out to Him in prayer. 90003 90002 There are many mysterious verses in Scripture but the beauty of the Bible is that with God’s Holy Spirit and enough study, they can be understood.And while the Silence in Heaven is a future event, Scripture is quite clear that when we are in rebellion God can be silent with us. And that is a scary proposition. This is a description of early church history, the missionary «zeal» and how the gospel «was preached to every creature which is under heaven» (Colossians 1:23). The white horse represents purity, the pure church. 90004 90065 90006 The Second Seal 90007 90004 90069 Revelation 6: 3,4 tells us about a red horse, symbolizing the death of God’s people by the sword.From the second century through Constantine’s edict of A.D. 313, Christianity was illegal and scores of Christians were martyred for their faith. (1, 2, 3) 90004 90071 90006 The Third Seal 90007 90004 90075 In Revelation 6: 5,6 the third seal is opened and we see a black horse and rider with a pair of balances in his hand. This represents the period in time after Constantine’s edit when the church was no longer pure. Pagan rituals were brought into the church, Christians began to keep Sunday holy instead of God’s holy Sabbath.Christianity was cheapened, the standards no longer held high. (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) 90004 90077 90006 The Fourth Seal 90007 90004 90081 The fourth seal of Revelation 6: 7,8 shows us a picture of a pale horse whose rider is named Death and Hell is following him and power was given to them to kill. This dark and scary picture represents the Dark Ages. (11, 12) 90004 90083 90006 The Fifth Seal 90007 90004 90087 Next, we find in Revelation 6: 9-11 the fifth seal is opened and we see an altar with the souls of those who were slain for their faith and they are told they have to «rest for a little season» until the judgement.This symbolizes the martyrs, all the millions of God’s people through the centuries, crying out for justice. 90004 90089 The dark ages ended. The reformation began. Christians stood up to the Catholic Church and began the protestant movement. Pilgrims embarked on a journey to the «New World» where they found freedom from religious persecution. 90004 90091 90006 The Sixth Seal 90007 90004 90095 Revelation 6: 12, 13 says, «And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.»90004 90097 90006 This is perhaps the most interesting and the most surprising of all. Let’s break it down: 90007 90004 90101 90006 1. «… and lo, there was a great earthquake …» 90007 90004 90105 90006 The Great Earthquake of Lisbon, Portugal on November 1, 1755 90007 is said to be the largest earthquake in history. At least 60,000 people died. Damage was severe in Fes, Morocco where an entire village of eight to ten thousand was swallowed up. The tsunami generated produced waves 60 feet high in Cadiz, Spain, and 40 feet high in Lisbon.The tidal waves traveled on to Martinique, a distance of 3,740 miles in ten hours was rose to a height of 12 feet! In other words, the tidal wave had an average speed of 374 miles per hour. 90004 90109 «The most famous of ALL earthquake generated seiches occurred after a very LARGE shock in Portugal in 1755. It set bodies of water into oscillation all over western and northern Europe. Various lakes in Scotland, Switzerland, and Scandinavia began to oscillate. » — John H. And that is exactly what happened! May 19, 1780 is known as the «Dark Day.» It happened across New England and was a terrifying experience for those who were witnesses. 90004 90119 90006 Noah Webster wrote about it in his dictionary: 90007 «So called on account of a remarkable darkness on that day extending over all New England … Birds sang their evening songs, disappeared, and became silent; fowls went to roost; cattle sought the barnyard; and candles were lighted in houses … The true cause of this remarkable phenomenon is not known.»- entry» Dark Day. «(15) 90004 90123 Dr. Samuel Tenney (1748 — 1816), who was a physician and patriot surgeon in the Revolutionary War, was an eyewitness to the Dark Day. He wrote: «The darkness of the following evening was probably as gross as ever has been observed since the Almighty fiat gave birth to light. It wanted only palpability to render it as extraordinary as that which overspread the land of Egypt in the days of Moses. … I could not help conceiving at the time, that if every luminous body in the universe had been shrouded in impenetrable shades or struck out of existence, the darkness could not have been more complete.A sheet of white paper held within a few inches of the eyes was equally invisible with the blackest velvet. » (16) 90004 90125 90006 The Bible says in Amos 8: 9: 90007 «And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at 90110 NOON 90111, and I will darken the earth in the broad daylight. » ESV. Has that ever happened? This portion of the prophecy was 90110 fulfilled the night following 90111 the «Dark Day.» 90004 90151 90006 Notwithstanding the fact that the moon gave no light 90007 and was not seen during most of the hours of that strange night, when it did appear, it had the reddish- copper color of blood! One witness described the supernatural happenings of the Dark Day and then discusses: 90004 90155 «the moon’s turning to blood … It did take place between 2 o’clock and day break in the morning of the same night after which the sun was darkened, which was said to appear as a clotter of blood [a blood-clot]; and it is the more probably, as that night, before the moon appeared, was as dark, in proportion, as the day, and of course would give the moon an extraordinary appearance — not suffering the moon to give her light.The next course, it seems, is the falling of the stars from heaven. » (22) 90004 90157 In the book 90110 7 Mysteries Solved 90111, Howard Peth writes: «Why does it seem that reports of the Dark Day were concentrated in eastern Canada and New England and not more widespread? So did the stars fall? Yes! There was a spectacular meteor shower on November 13, 1833.
