Prerequisites for the quest rep wise as follows
#1 Order of the Cloud Serpents (exalted for the learning of the mount itself,not required to complete but to use the mount you receive.)
#2 Revered with the Golden Lotus (this unlocks multiple quest chains for the august celestials aswell)
#3 Exalted with the Shadow-Pan

So its a decent enough grind i’m not a huge farmer took me 3days for cloud serpents, took me about a week an a-half for the Golden lotus, and Shadow-pan almost as long because of the daylies you grind (i’m also trying for their achievements :D)

this is the quest you must complete to start grinding the shadow pan daylies Понимание Шадо-Пан

Once completed through it should make alt grinds much easier with the new commendations such as Shadow Pan and Cloud Serpent wich can be purchased once you hit Revered with the specific pandaren rep you are grinding.

I just finish this quest now and… wow. Just wow. I wrote up what happens across the quest and will hide it for those not wanting to be spoiled. Enjoy.

As you accept this quest, hundreds of Mogu appear and start besieging Niuzao Temple as well as the bridge across to it. You can easily fly over them but can also help relieve the emotionless NPC fighting them for no benefit ever then feeling better about yourself.

Waiting for you on the south east side of the temple, on the path, are all nine of your daily quest companions and Ban Bearheart. After briefly speaking to him, he and the other nine companions will start advancing up the steps and into the besieged temple and find Shan Bu, safely inside a bubble channeling a dark looking spell into Niuzao who is acting stunned on the spot.

Once he notices you, Shan Bu goes into this (fully voiced, like the rest of the quest) speech:

Shan Bu yells: Ahahaha, the Great Niuzao, strength of the west, divine celestial, protector of the weak…
Shan Bu yells: Your charge, the sha of fear, has escaped.

Shan Bu yells: The mantid besiege you from all sides.
Shan Bu yells: You wield the powers of a god, but you are beaten!
Shan Bu yells: You bear the burden of an entire people upon your shoulders. And how have they repaid you?
Shan Bu yells: You are forgotten. This is what you fear, is it not?
Shan Bu yells: Lay your duties aside and rest.
Nizuao yells: I will NEVER yield!
Shan Bu yells: When you are dying, beast, remember that I gave you a choice.
Shan Bu yells: Shan-ze! Hei Feng! Kill him!

After this, waves of Живодер Шань’цзэ will come down from the north and west stairs to attack you. Meanwhile, Хэй Фэн a heavenly wind serpent will bombard you from the air with Shadow Detonation. This does a moderate amount of damage and marks the ground with a red circle that you’re supposed to step out of.

After several waves of Живодер Шань’цзэ and several emotes (Хэй Фэн prepares to land! and Хэй Фэн is landing!) Хэй Фэн himself with land with the shout:

Хэй Фэн yells: The storm will consume you!
Хэй Фэн yells: I shall show you TRUE strength!

After this, you and your band of heroes will fight the now grounded wind serpent in a rather easy fight. He will almost constantly use Змеиный удар which is an interruptible AoE knock for minor damage and, like most dragon, a deep breath. Хэй Фэн’s deep breath is emoted before hand with «Хэй Фэн takes a Deep Breath! Move behind him!» and hits in a very small frontal cone in front of him. I would also like to add he has the coolest breath I have ever seen. Ahem. Once he reaches 1% he’ll become untargetable and goes:

Хэй Фэн yells: No. NO!
Хэй Фэн yells: Master, I have failed you…

And then dies, allowing you to loot him. I got 1xОстрые клыки :D.

Afterwards, Niuzao returns to normality and thanks you:

Niuzao yells: Thank you, <Name>. You have saved us all.
Niuzao yells: Remember, it is at the darkest moment that light shines the brightest.
Niuzao yells: Well done, heroes.

Then he just stands there until you leave. Once you return to the Shado-Pan Garrison, your nine daily companions, Master Snowdrift and Ban Bearheart are standing in a half circle. After turning in the quest they induct you into the Shado-Pan formally:

Ban Bearheart says: Today, we welcome you into the Shado-Pan.
Ban Bearheart says: Your perseverance strengthens us. Your courage leads us. Your honor inspires us.
Ban Bearheart says: From this day forth, you walk as one of our brotherhood.
Yalia Songwhisper says: We knew you could do it!
Ban Bearheart says: Welcome <Name>, as a member of the Shado-Pan!
Lao-Chin the Iron Belly says: Good job. Guess you learned a little something from me.
Taoshi says: Let’s go for a drink!
Fei Li says: Drinks!

One note: When you finish this quest and the RP ends, you remain in the RP phase and are unable to see the quartermaster or other normal NPCs at the Shado-Pan Garrison until you leave (just flying until you see the name of the area change) and return.

For anyone who was excited to get exalted like I was half way through dailies, and became sad when I couldn’t find this quest at all. Make sure to finish the daily quests, the quest giver then was letting me start this chain. Hope this helps.

Tip for the quest:

For those of you who are aggro shy like myself. Do not feign death or vanish or any other method to lose aggro on NPC’s. You’ll just need to eat the damage because. (At least Feign death) resets the whole event.

Hunter DO NOT feign death. You reset the event and have to go to Ban and start over.

For any warlocks having issues with Hei Feng coming down and attacking early. It is because you have archimonde’s vengence talented. And when he attacks from the sky It pulls aggro and results in him coming down to bite you face.

Just did this one myself. When I flew over, the Ox was standing out in the square, with a drake flying around, and absolutely nothing else. I flew onto a tower to get in range to attack the drake. Killed him and event finished just fine.

Kinda wish I could have seen the real event, but at least things ended fine.

If you are impatient you can just engage Hei Feng before all of the RP, but the fight is somewhat more difficult without your Shado-Pan allies.

I am having trouble finishing this quest as a demon warlock. I would like to skip it, but have lost access to the three quartermasters. Any way to get them back without doing the quest? I have tried abandoning the quest and flying away. Does not help. Short of that, how can I complete this without getting killed? Tried the solo idea from a tower and got him down to about 90% before I died. I’m using the felguard, would a different demon be better? Thanks.

I just confirmed, you CAN receive/complete this quest even if you are not revered with the Золотой Лотос, you also do not need to have done Понимание Шадо-Пан. This is important if you used faction championing, Rep coins that drop off Зандаларский военный разведчик / Зандаларский завоеватель , or used Хозенская трубка мираs. You can also access the quartermaster (Жуши Плут) and purchase all the items he sells.

I entered a report on this and a Game Master told me that people are having problems with it not completing. I tried resetting the whole quest three times and it never completed. According to the GM, Blizzard Q&A does have a report on it to fix it. No time frame on the fix but it has been reported multiple times so I don’t know if it is every time or everyone who can’t do it or just some. But it does seem that if you can’t do it once you can’t do it later.

Please note that killing Hei Feng on your own as suggested by several posters above seems to get around the bug. I was stuck after attempting to complete with group as per the quest text three times before I gave up and tried to kill him on my own. It worked. (took me forever with my prot pally)

For those having trouble completing the Quest, be sure to LOOT Hei Feng!

I tried 3 times to finish the quest but it never completed the second objective.

On a 4th try, I was close enough to loot the beast (before he actually dies) and the quest completed normally.

Not sure if this is the end all/fix all but it worked for me.

This quest is annoying as ! This bug is irritating, as the questgiver is phased and abandoning it, means youhave to fly out of the zone to get it back.
Even though this is an end-quest for a whole faction that is bugged for countless people, Blizzard do not seem to care at all…

IF they ever answer my ticket, I’ll report back… (EDIT.: Suprise! they didn’t)

EDIT: Never heard from Blizz, but I got it done. As some say — tank it on your own, it does get the quest done.
I suspect the bug lies in who gives the killing blow, that’s why some people have gotten it done the intended way.

So, to tank the Dragon down by yourself, as a prot tank:
1. If you still have the quest at 0/1, go outside the temple and talk to Ban, to start charging in again.
2. You must at some point engagae in at least 1 ground enemy, or the dragon disappears.
3. Stand on the first rooftop over the entrance from Shado-Pan
4. Throw your weapon at him
5. Either tank him down on the roof top, or take a consoderable amount of fall damage (as I did) and hang on by the skin of your nose until he is down

He wont do ice breath when you are 1-1 with him, but does electric charge on the ground that is easily avoided.
This will take a very long time without the helpers, but it will get the quest finished.
Be sure to use potions wisely, as this is a long fight if you are iLvl 460ish or below.

I completed this today. But I encountered a bug. I spoke to Ban Bearheart to start the attack. After defeating the waves of Mogu and having Hei Feng land, then defeating him too, nothing happened! I tried it again, defeated the Mogu waves and then Hei Feng again, and again, nothing happened!

I noticed Hei Feng flying above the area after I had defeated him. So I decided to cut to the chase and just attack him. I stayed mounted on a flying mount just at the top of the stairs. When He came past, I threw my Avenger’s Shield at him and pulled him down. I sat at the top of the stairs and slowly worked down all 8.7 million of his hit points until the last few hundred thousand then kited him down to in front of Niuzao and finished him off.

This enabled completion of the quest.

(tl;dr)- If this bugs out for you after defeating Hei Feng, pull and kill Hei Feng seperately without talking to Ban Bearheart.

After completing Внезапная атака!, I wasn’t able to turn the quest in because the quest wasn’t giving me credit for defeating the Mogu Invasion. After trying this in a couple ways, the following was the way that seemed to work the best.

Aggro Хэй Фэн by using a ranged ability from one of the towers and walk him to the Shado-Pan fighting in front of Нюцзао.

If you engage Хэй Фэн this way, he won’t use his Змеиный удар or Глубокий вдох.

At this point you just need to DPS him down and stay out of the Темный взрыв, which is a small electrical circle that is placed underneath you and is on a 1.5 sec cooldown.

This is listed as an Alliance quest and I’m slightly confused as to why, since you can also complete it as Horde. Am I looking at something wrong here?

Okay, so I did this today, which was awesome btw, and it glitched, less awesome. Stupid dragon wouldn’t come down or do his emotes. Just finished the waves and sat for 10 minutes waiting for something to happen.
Solution to the bug: Get on the statue of the bull and wait for him to come into range and hit him with any ranged attack, throw, or spell. Pull him into the pack, and stay as close as you can to as many pandas as possible. They heal you when they hit him, but only if you’re close by. Watch your health. And good luck.

Important to note; if you tag Hei Feng too late, the quest will bug and you won’t get any credit. You have to tag him early in the fight or it won’t register.

I went AFK during the rp, came back after all the mogu were dead and Hei Feng was 3/4 down and it was too late. I had to do it another time to get my credit. (4 attempts, 2 failed because of feign death, eesh.)

Major warning: Feign Death (and I would assume other aggro wipe abilities) breaks this quest to the degree that you have to abandon and start over.

During this quest’s phase, the Valor Points vendors won’t be spawned, nor the August Celestial daily NPCs.
You exit the phase by completing Внезапная атака!.

For those of you not yet Honored with The Black Prince, killing the Mogu during this quest will grant you roughly 1000 rep with him. Nice little bonus… because you know… a mount wasn’t enough.

Treat this a bit like Crumbling Behemoth for the Golden Lotus dallies, with 1 major exception.

Hit, move, hit, move, just the same, but make sure you tag the serpent asap when it comes down into the temple grounds. As others have said in previous posts you won’t get the credit if you do this too late (unlike behemoth quest where you can show up when the guy is down to v. low health & still get the credit when he dies).

You also need to be involved with the mogu battles as well. Can’t just fly around saving health waiting for the serpent. Do this & the battle disappears & you have to start over again.

Ok so here’s the scoop. You have to tag him as he comes down 1st so watch the script to know when he’s decending. Always stay behind him as much as pssible says in the script. when he takes a deep breath be behind him. Nothing else or anything else below helped me at all just a lot of useless gabbing as always..

If, like me, you’re doing these late in the expansion and got to Exalted with Shado-Pan without doing most of their quests (warbringers/warscouts + tiller’s rep farming, pun intended) then you might wonder what all you really need to do.

First, I wasn’t exalted with Golden Lotus and have done none of those quests. I am Revered but not Exalted. I don’t know if you need any Golden Lotus rep at all anymore.

Second, just go to Master Snowdrift and complete «Mogu Incursions».

Last, you get this quest. Complete it as per other comments and you are done.

Getting Exalted is the longer part. Once done it is only 2 quests to get the mount.

You can actually skip all of the waves of Mogu and the RP nonsense if you just stand on top of the temple and pull Hei Feng as he flies around. Kill him, and the quest will be completed.

When I get to the temple, Ban Bearheart is already inside, he’s not outside waiting. Therefor, when I complete the second part of the quest through entering the temple, his chat bubble disappears which makes me ineligible to complete the quest. I’ve tried to abandon the quest and try again with no success. Would appreciate help.

This quest is urban legend at best. I have exalted on two toons with Shado Pan and NEVER saw this quest. This quest does not exist, and cannot be obtained at the temple. In fact I went out there today and the bull was running around chasing bugs, Ban Bearheart was not there and was not at the coordinates on the map. I was exalted before Pandaria ended and 6.0 dropped and never had a chance to get this quest or the mount. Nor are any special conditions described in the quest as pre-requisites to obtaining the quest- and I’ve done all their quests and dailies.(I’ve got Pandaren Ambassador on one of my toons at least- so I’ve never had a shot at this quest despite rep.)

When I tried to do this, nothing happened for about a minute…then I saw a black wind serpent flying in the distance. Figuring the quest was bugged, I mounted up and pulled it. Killing it completed the quest.

I just decided I will hand in some Изорванные исторические свитки which I got from my rogue’s Lei Shen treasure event scenario from the Rogue Order Hall and stumbled across this at Shadopan Garrison in Townlong Steppes TOTALY by accident. Didn’t even know you could get Ониксовый облачный змей just by a simple single quest HAHAHA. 4 years later better late than never 😀

Just did this quest to get the mount as of Legion 7.1, after using TW badges to buy rep tokens an having done no Pandaria questing — To find the quest to do Surprise Attack, you must first do 3 quick quests after reaching Exalted with Shado-Pan reputation; The Challenger’s Ring: Chao the Voice, The Challenger’s Ring: Lao-Chin the Iron Belly, and Mogu Incursions. Once done, the quest giver will give you the quest Surprise Attack.

He currently doesn’t offer me this quest, however, talk from the beta involves either finishing the story line and/or being exalted with the Shado-pan. Will report in if anything triggers it as I grind that rep/quest more.

This quest line has two requirements:

1) You need to be Exalted with the Shado-Pan.
2) You need Cloud Serpent riding before you can use your quest reward.

Completing this chain will also award you the achievement «Defender of Gods».

I just got this quest but am running into trouble.

I kill the spy and fly back to turn in to Master Snowdrift, but he is permanently fighting the waves of mogu making it impossible to turn in. Has anyone completed the entire questline? If so, I’d like to know how 😛

Master Snowdrift gives this quest. He is at Shado-pan Garrison at 49,70 in Townlong Steppes.

I got exalted in the middle of my dailies and I can verify that you have to complete your dailies for this quest to show up.

I was having the same issue, while i was looking on the internet for solutions, i noticed that the group that was fighting was kinda moving..and after 10-15 minutes, they returned to their original place o.O
Them I turned over the quest. Try wait a little bit.

If you are having phasing issues with this quest, and leaving the phasing area then returning does not work, the only way to fix the bug is to open a ticket so a GM can take care of it.

Get 2 people and nuke all those waves quickly. If you kill them quick enuf the quest giver resets and you have a little bit of time to turn in quest and take the second one

I found my Carbonite addon was completly useless for this quest.

After turning it off, the coordinates for the first mob is at 48.8, 58.6. It’s actually 3 mobs but easily soloed. Once completed turn in the quest back at Master Snowdrift Мастер Снежный Вихрь in Shado-Pan Garrison. He will give another quest, the Shado-Pan finale, Surprise Attack! Внезапная атака!; which leads to the achievement, Defender of Gods Защитник богов and ultimately is a requirement of the acheivement, The Shado-MasterШадо-мастер.

It appears that Master Snowdrift will not show himself if you have shado-pan dailies in your log.
If you can’t find him (or he doesn’t offer the quest), and you are indeed exalted, try dropping any shado-pan dailies. It worked for me 🙂

The spy, or Spymaster, is at 49/59. Just north of the Shado-Pan Garrison (where you might have obtained the quest). . . . There is the Spymaster + 2 flunkies, left-west of the road, on a type of cliff-top.

Many warriors scoff at this talent and leave it, because it is very situational. The fact that your three powerful skills, I call them epic skills, are tied together in cooldown, this talent *really* only reduces that cooldown to 20 minutes, rather than reducing them all by 10 minutes. The wording on the talent is somewhat misleading to newer warriors.

However, i find that this talent is more useful than other’s think. Take my warrior build, http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LVMcdAboxIdboVZfVzoh for example. In place of Improved Disciplines I could have 3 rage off Heroic Strike, 9% stun resist, or Improved Intercept are the three better talents. I find that, while tanking heroics, the extra 6 seconds on shield wall is invaluable! Not to mention, you can use them 1/3 more often.

Finally, this is an excellent PvP talent. Not for the Arena, that’s a whole different story, but for general PvP/World PvP this talent rocks. Having it means that you can use it once per battleground, generally.

Yes, nerfed to the balls. In WoTLK this was now 9% on your attacks. And in cata it’s resetting the Cooldown on Colossus Smash.

This is a lie. Sudden Death allows you to keep 10 rage after using Execute. Execute also happens to cost 10 rage. Result? Execute essentially becomes free if you have 10 rage and it becomes a free filler ability during execute phase while keeping your other main abilities on cooldown.

I’m a little skeptical about taking this for PvP. I’ve done my research and notice that most arms warriors take this for pvp but I wonder if they are taking it because they are just copy/pasting the next warrior’s spec or because it’s really a good idea. It’s definitely a core talent for PvE but PvP is entirely different. These two talent points could be used for something more useful like Blitz.

Getting to Execute range in PvP basically means the first Execute and next couple abilities are going to kill the target if they don’t peel off of you or get a heal etc, that is if you even use Execute. Rarely do I get a chance to stack Execute and get the haste bonus from 2/2 Executioner because the target dies, or gets away because they are resilience stacked. During that time the Executioner haste bonus is dwindling away and is wasted. If you skip Sudden Death and skip Executioner then you save 4 talent points and there is no point in spamming Execute for a kill, when you could just as easily finish that 20%HP with Mortal Strike and Overpower procs and spend rage on Heroic Strikes with Incite. Similar to Slam, it’s hard to get a lot of use out of Execute because of the nature of PvP. Sudden Death and Executioner feel like they are meant for extended boss fights where some extra rage and melee haste can take more affect.

Now about the Colossus Smash proc from Sudden Death, one has to consider the practical use of CS in PvP. First of all it’s been nerfed and clearly states in the tooltip that it reduces less armor on players. Cloth wearers don’t have as much armor anyways, they have other means to defend themselves. This proc also has a habit of resetting the cooldown on CS immediately after I’ve used it, and sometimes I use it by accident which costs me a global cooldown that could have been a killing blow. Without Sudden Death it would still be useable every 20 seconds, and could be saved for a full rage bar and some burst.

I can’t believe the naivity of some of the commenters here on this talent. THIS talent is one of the most groundbreaking talents in the Arms tree. If you are blessed by the RNG Gods, you can consecutively have back-to-back Colossus Smashes on your target.
Yes, this talent can proc from the Arms Mastery.
After wailing on the target dummy and other patchwerk-esque fights, Colossus Smash has always refreshed itself before it’s normal cooldown thanks to this talent.

Was not sure about the last part of the talent, so I tried it out a few times — watching my Rage carefully.
The «keep 10 Rage after using Execute» portion means that you will not go below 10 Rage if you have 10-39 Rage (10 base with up to 20 used to increase damage) when using Execute. Therefore, if you have 40 or more, you’ll still consume up to 30 points.

There’s been some discussion about Превосходство and Внезапная смерть in 5.2 by Ghostcrawler:

The intent is Смертельный удар -> Превосходство with Мощный удар used during or during moments of excess rage.

We tried the change to Превосходство proc’ing Внезапная смерть with noble intentions of making the rotation more dynamic since CS would be slightly more predictable. However, the change isn’t a clear win, so we’re not sure it’s a good change. We are likely to go back to autoattacks proc Внезапная смерть, but leaving the 1 GCD on Превосходство. We are also intrigued by the idea of having Искусность: невиданная мощь (mastery) also proc Внезапная смерть, so we might run some numbers on that. The buff to Глубокие раны, mastery and haste should all help with Arms scaling (though we remain convinced that players often focus much too much on scaling and not on overall DPS).

As of patch 6.1:

Although the talent tooltip says «… costs no initial rage, consume no extra rage…», however when you use the proc at execute range (<20% HP) it will still consume extra rage and do the extra damage just with no initial cost.

я делала это так:
В верхней части гнездовья есть гоблины, с них падают » Гоблинские припасы] юзаем их на Аморфный Анигилятор — увеличиваем прогресс задания на 3. Так же там порой появляются сундуки где эти самые припасы тоже можно получить.
Поглощение трупов (после кила и поднятия лута трупик можно полутать) прогресс увеличивается на 1 (в среднем, иногда видимо чуть меньше и прогресс не заметен.

От пати проку мало, ну разве что стараться перехватывать их припасы и поглощать трупы.

Так, я сегодня был в бешенстве, когда нифига не получалось сделать быстро, но терпение дало свои плоды.
Значит так: нам надо заполнить полоску всеми возможными способами. Описываю без подробностей:
0. Как только приходите в зону квеста, повсюду ходят огры-маги и рядом с ними летающие осьминоги. Убиваем несколько и к вам на бошку запрыгивает одна из осьминожек.
1. Огры и осьминоги. Прогресс малый. Можно их мутузить, но опять же, мало прогресса.
2. Апекситовый краеугольный камень. Прогресс около 2-3%. Нашел только один способ заюзать. Слева есть пещера, перед которой стоят големы и кастуют что-то в шар. Заходите в пещеру и около стены (изредка!) появляется апекситовый страж. Наполняете его энергией и после этого можно использовать один камень для зарядки одного из 3 кристаллов (не знаю, будет ли что-нибудь при зарядке всех трех).
3. Гоблинские припасы и их поршни. Прогресс нормальный. За убийство гоблинов и сбор в зоне квеста ящиков вам дают гоблинские припасы, которые используете на искрящих поршнях.
4. Тренога из войны миров. ОЧЕНЬ высокий прогресс. Осьминожка, что запрыгнула на вас в начале квеста, «эволюционирует вместе с вами». Убивая мобов в этой локации (я превратился убивая злых араккоа в пещере из п.2), у вас есть возможность превратиться в треногу и глушить всех мощными лазерами итд итп.
Уверен, что здесь есть ошибки и неточности, но на первый раз вышло именно так.

Квест действительно идиотский. Возможно, остальные задания, даваемые в гарнизоне, такие же? Этот был первый.

Прибежал на место, что только не делал: ел всё подряд, бил, тыкал, что светится, в пещере всё излазил, убил редкого моба… Было от силы процентов 12. Затем начал валить мелких хренов, которые висят над головой у огров, мой начал резко расти. После где-то 5-ого такого моба я превратился в многоножку (Рипер из МЕ 😀 ), третья абилка за один килл начала давать по 10% шкалы. Через 6-7 мобов я закончил. Не знаю, это ли стало причиной моего развития или что-то ещё, но, в общем, решил поделиться со всеми, вдруг поможет)

Я зашла в пещеру на севере, там к башке прицепился паразит. убиваем нескольких мобов, поглощаем их (после сбора лута), наша твариночка эволюционирует, превращает нас в огромного монстра с 900+к жизней, прыгаем им и валим всякую шушару, индикатор заполняется за несколько минут.

My first time here, doesn’t seem to be much information so I thought I’d share initial attempt. I flew into Talon Watch, go around lake with bad guys head east, drop down into quest area. Kill ogres and talons, right click to eat after killing. Go to the cave at 71, 44.4. Kill talons inside, loot artifacts on the ground, they are also known as apex keystones. When you have a keystone you can click the crystals on stands. Then with that «energy» you can click forgotten sentinels. It appears you will save the keystones for another day, like the talon keys save.

At some point in killing and eating you’ll turn into a big mob with special abilities. I didn’t find much advantage other than something different to do. You can just exit the mob and continue on.

This quest seems harder than it needs to be. I don’t see the point in turning into the monster. He is too large and you can’t see what you are doing. The part about the cave is correct, but after that I was not able to «eat» anything. Not sure why. I kept killing stuff for one point at a time and finally found some machines that you could click if you had goblin supplies. Found the goblins and started killing them. Clicked a machine when they were ready. I think Blizzard tried to get too «cute» on this one.

This has to be one of the fastest daily quests I’ve come across. Super fun, large creature is easy to control. Also fast and easy Arakkoa Outcast rep.

Strategy and Mob Percentages
Loot Apexis Keystone and then click a crystal in the cave to receive a buff that gives increased damage, which will grow over time—as well as a squid on your head (Amorphic Cognitor). Consume enemies by right clicking on their corpses to increase your buff.

You can also transform into a waterstrider that has a special ability bar that speeds things up.

I just managed to die while on this quest, and the Amorphic Cognitor simply left my brain, and whispered «We have chosen… poorly. We will find another host.»
The quest is no longer in my quest log. No actual notification of failure whatsoever. Is that normal?

Warning!

Somehow, if you enter the area from the Shadowmoon (I did swim down the river) the mobs I kill would count but I could not use any of the items.

Once I went further to the sea and re-entered the quest area from there, the items became usable.

22 июня 1941 года. 4.00. Общая тревога для всей эскадрильи. На летном поле все в движении. Всю ночь я слышал гул танков и автомобилей. Мы всего в нескольких километрах от границы.

4.30. Всем летчикам приказано собраться в штабе эскадрильи на инструктаж. Командующий, капитан Войтке, зачитал специальное распоряжение фюрера вооруженным силам рейха на этот день.

Германия нападает на Советский Союз!

5.00. Эскадрилья поднялась в воздух и вступила в боевые действия.

Четыре машины нашего звена, включая мою, оборудованы механизмом для сброса бомб, и я прошел серьезную подготовку по бомбометанию за несколько прошедших недель. Теперь на фюзеляже моего доброго «Эмиля» установлено приспособление для бомбометания и 100 пятифунтовых бомб. Мне доставит большое удовольствие разбомбить грязных иванов.

Низко пролетая над широкими равнинами, мы видели нескончаемые колонны немецких войск, направляющихся на восток. Эскадрильи бомбардировщиков и пикирующих бомбардировщиков летят неподалеку от нас в том же направлении. Перед нами поставлена задача атаковать русские штабы, расположенные в лесах к западу от Друскининкая.

На русской территории, к моему удивлению, все казалось погруженным в сон. Мы обнаружили русские штабы и на низкой высоте пролетели над деревянными постройками, но ни одного русского солдата не было видно. Спикировав на один из этих сараев, я нажал кнопку и открыл бомболюк. Я отчетливо ощутил, насколько легче стал самолет, освободившись от груза.

Остальные начали бомбить в то же время. Огромные массы земли взметнулись в воздух, и на некоторое время мы потеряли видимость из-за дыма и огромного количества пыли. Одна из построек моментально загорелась. С автомашин сорвало маскировочные сетки, потом их перевернуло взрывной волной. Наконец, появились иваны. Они в замешательстве снуют туда-сюда, напоминая растревоженный муравейник. Мужчины в одних подштанниках в поисках укрытия устремились в лес. Я увидел легкие зенитки. Захватив их в прицел, открыл огонь из пулеметов и обеих пушек. Иван, стоявший у пушки в подштанниках, упал на землю.

Снова зайдя на атаку, я поддал им жару. Русские быстро опомнились и открыли ответный огонь. Это еще больше раззадорило меня. Ну, постойте, мерзавцы!

Я сделал еще круг, чтобы атаковать.

Никогда еще я не стрелял так хорошо. Я спустился на высоту шести метров, едва не задевая верхушки деревьев, затем резко взмыл вверх. Мои иваны лежали на земле позади своей пушки. Один из них вскочил и бросился бежать в лес.

Я атаковал еще пять или шесть раз. Мы кружили над русскими как пчелиный рой. Горели уже почти все хибары. Я расстрелял грузовик, который тоже загорелся после первой же очереди.

5.56. Звено вернулось в полном составе.

Самолеты быстро заправлены, загружен полный боекомплект. По летному полю лихорадочно снуют люди и машины. Бомбардировщики вернулись с задания, они поддерживают сухопутные силы. Их пилоты тоже ликуют.

6.30. Всего лишь через 40 минут после приземления мы снова в воздухе. Наша цель — те же штабы, которые мы атаковали недавно. Мы уже издалека видим столбы дыма от горящих домов и спешим туда.

К этому времени собраны значительные силы ПВО, чтобы поприветствовать нас. Это похоже на бои у Кентербери. Я опять поработал с зенитками Иванов. На этот раз я сбросил бомбы на огневую позицию. Грязь и пыль осели, и я увидел, что пушка разбита! Это избавит иванов от лишних забот.

Кажется, русские укрылись в лесу и спрятали свои машины. Мы начали методично обстреливать из пулеметов лес вокруг лагеря. В нескольких местах запылал огонь. Наверное, загорелись резервуары с горючим. Я расстреливал каждую цель, которую видел, пока не кончились патроны.

Мы вернулись в 7.20. И снова наше звено мгновенно подготовлено к вылету. Наземные службы работают четко и безошибочно. Мы помогаем им и даем подробное описание того, что происходит во время операции. На этот раз мы подготовили машины к вылету за рекордное время — 22 минуты. Мы взлетаем немедленно.

В лагере русских практически ничего не осталось. Мы атакуем любую цель, замеченную в близлежащем лесу. Я сбросил бомбы над последней постройкой, которая еще цела. Крупински сделал то же самое, разрушив то, что оставалось. Лагерь полностью ликвидирован.

После 48 минут полета мы возвращаемся на аэродром и рассредоточиваемся по летному полю. Берем короткую передышку и можем первый раз за весь день поесть.

Вскоре пришел новый приказ. Транспортные колонны русских замечены нашими разведывательными самолетами на шоссе Гродно — Житомир-Скидель-Щецин. Они отступают на восток, преследуемые по пятам нашими танками. Нам приказано поддержать танки с воздуха.

Взлетаем в 10.07, вместе с бомбардировщиками. Они должны бомбить огневые позиции русской артиллерии в том же районе.

Вскоре мы достигли Гродно. Дороги забиты русскими войсками. Нам постепенно становятся понятны причины внезапной атаки, подготовленной нашим верховным командованием. Мы оценили подлинные объемы приготовлений русских для агрессии против нас. Мы только опередили их решительное наступление против Германии в борьбе за господство в Европе.

Этот день я никогда не забуду. Наши армии повсеместно продвигаются вперед, русские застигнуты врасплох. Наши солдаты машут нам, когда мы пролетаем над ними на низкой высоте. Скопления русских войск на дорогах подвергаются массированным бомбардировкам и пулеметному огню с воздуха.

Тысячи иванов стремительно отступают, это превращается в беспорядочное бегство. Когда мы открываем огонь, они, спотыкаясь и обливаясь кровью, пытаются скрыться в ближайших лесах. После наших атак на дорогах остаются горящие автомашины. Моя бомба попала в повозку с лошадьми, везущими тяжелую пушку. Я рад, что не нахожусь там, внизу.

Мы поднялись в воздух в 20.00, в шестой раз за этот первый день. Не было никаких признаков авиации русских, и мы могли атаковать без помех.

For example i had the Добивание Железной Орды quest and took from the map the Атака на храм Ша’наар quest. I did The temple of sha’naar quest map and returned and ended up getting the next ones which were Развитие атаки and Разорвать узы Скверны. This means i could achieve three quests in one location (The iron front) for fel blood, orc kills and bonus objective. Had i not gone back i would have to had kill the orcs for nothing.

I noticed yesterday that this quest was available after I’d completed the objective for the map daily, but *before* I turned that daily in. I suspect completing an objective is the trigger, not completing the quest.

This quest now awards 150 garrison resources in addition to the apexis crystals. I did not see this change in today’s official log of hotfixes.

This is just a guess, but areas that are an actual daily quest will *not* count as bonus objective areas. Started the day w/ the quest at 1/2 for objective areas. I did the Sha’tari quest area since it was the map option. I completed it and got credit for completing the map quest. However, it did not also count for the 2/2 on the Pressing the Attack quest.

TL;DR — don’t assume that you’ll get a two-fer by combining the Daily map quest with this one.

EDIT: I will check back tomorrow to confirm if this is the case.

oh joy, a new bug! today it seems impossible to actually have any area get a bonus objective bar show up, meaning that if you get this bug you’re either blind to your progress, or even worse, don’t gain any

If you can spare the time on a particular day, do another two bonus areas but only up to 90%. The next time you take this quest you can resume the 90% areas and it would only take a few minutes to finish.

This quest is still bugging out and not giving credit for some zones. For me, Iron Front has been bugged for several days in a row now, and completing the bonus zone doesn’t give quest credit.

I think the problem relates to if you picked up that zone as a previous day’s daily from the map but never completed it — the quest resets overnight but is still stuck in your log as a phantom quest. You should see when you first go to the zone that two separate progress bars appear, but then the normal one (with the apexis bonus on completion) disappears, and completing the zone doesn’t count towards Pressing The Attack but towards the non-existent daily stuck in your quest log.

Unfortunately I don’t know how to fix this, I suspect the only way to get it sorted is to wait until that zone is up as one of the two map dailies, pick it up again and complete it properly. And try not to leave incomplete dailies in your quest log at the end of the day.
