One of the three new Heirloom rings added in 6.2 that are rewards from rare Naval missions comes at the level 60 version which can be upgraded to lvl 90 and 100 with Старинная наследная обшивка для брони and Видавшая виды наследная обшивка для брони respectively. The missions along with the 2k gold ones require you to have a level 3 Shipyard (from Владычество над морями/Владычество над морями) and have completed Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба from Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба to appear, and only appear occasionally as rare missions that do not respawn immediately should you fail.

I just got my second Heirloom ring today so I can confirm that although they only show up as ‘Unique-equipped’ they also have an additional restriction that

prevents you from wearing any 2 of the 3 Naval mission Ghost pirate rings simultaneously stating

«You can only equip 1 item in the Ghost Pirate Ring Category.»

However, the old Перстень ужасного пирата from the fishing contest can still be equipped in addition to the newer rings and does not give the error, allowing for an extra 5% xp boost.

Edit: Got the mission for me again after more than a month of waiting. Didn’t get any other ring missions for me. Only this STR ring mission.

After a bunch of testing I can pretty much confirm you need the following to spawn the missions for heirloom rings (and also the rare 2k gold misison):

You do not need character item level 675 like the 6.2 garrison rare missions (thanks tommytom for confirming this!)

My main question was about scaling on this item. It seems a bit low at 85 because of the stat squish, plus it needs to be upgraded.

Приказ о завершении задания and Непотопляемый корпус make Rare Missions like this a piece of cake. Even at 70% you’ll more than likely get it in 2 tries.
Navel Missions are a bit of a gold sink because you can just exchange garrison resources at a trading post for 0.3 gold each (10000 = 3000 gold)
Even if you have Goblin crews, the gold you will acquire from rare missions barely offsets the cost of buying equipment to complete them and you only get them roughly once a month.
Just go with Undead and maybe a couple of Blood Elves so you don’t need to re-equip as much and take the cash from resources.

Edit — I gotta eat my words about gold.
Over the months since I posted this I have been getting a LOT more gold reward quests.
Fully suggest to go with Goblin/Dwarf crews for HALF of your fleet.
I did once see a rare quest disappear after failing but over time they come back.
Just keep clearing ALL non-training missions and they will be back sooner than you think along with the gold missions.
Unsinkable is the key, makes everything a no-brainer because you don’t keep re-fitting your ships, just wear the 10% — 25% chance of failure and log in 3 times a day to count the gold.

I don’t know if it was just a coincidence, but I finally got the naval mission for Captain Sander’s Returned Band the day after I finished the legendary ring missions (after having completed the other stuff people talked about, like the spyglass).

From my own experience, since this hotfix a couple of days ago, I have received an heirloom ring mission (the last one I still need), the mount mission and the 2000 gold mission across the 4 characters I actually do Shipyard missions on.

So it seems the chance has been increased quite a bit.

The reason they did that was to ensure Dread Pirate Ring wasn’t rendered obsolete, which can be used in conjunction with Admiral Taylor’s Loyalty Ring.

To get the naval mission that rewards this, a character needs to have a level 3 shipyard, and one character on your account (according to another post) has to have completed the Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба quest. To check if a particular character has done the quest, log in as the character and copy/paste or type the following into the main (General) chat window:

/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39365))

If the word «true» is displayed in the chat window, the quest been completed, and if «false» is displayed, it hasn’t.

If you need to get the quest, kill Капитан Железнобород located in a cave with entrance at in Draenor’s Танаанские джунгли. The captain spawns to the left (southwest) in the cave, around , on the main floor — no swimming, jumping or climbing are required. He will drop the quest starter item, Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба. It’s supposed to be a guaranteed drop if you haven’t gotten it previously, but it seems that needing it might be WoW account-wide or Battle.net account-wide, so it may not drop for subsequent characters. Captain Ironbeard is a rare mob that respawned every 15-30 minutes when the zone was active, but it’s possible it’s also dependent on other Tanaan Jungle rares mobs being killed before new ones spawn, which may be slower after the Legion expansion is released.

So far I have met these conditions I’ve read around at threads:
— I am 675+ geared.
— Every single follower I have is also 675. (Not that it matters I suppose)
— I got the spyglass blueprints AND have finished that quest. (100%, checked with the script even)
— Shipyard level 3 and a full fleet set of epic ships.

And yet no such missions yet (almost 1,5 week so far and I am doing missions every single day, focusing on treasure ones)
Do I also need to have the spyglass equipped on any ship for the heirloom missions to spawn? Or?

I would like someone to confirm that you are still able to acquire these rings as I have done everything that I needed to do and have the «naval mechanic» achievement yet a month and no ring mission.

I got two rings from missions then destroyed them without realising I had to learn them before they became heirlooms. Blizzard’s item restoration didn’t help. Does anyone know if the missions will pop up again?

Edit: I just received the mission, so i can confirm that even if you accidentally delete the ring, you can get it again.

Something I was looking for but never got quite a clear answer to, were the exact prerequisites for unlocking the missions for the naval heirloom rings, so after googling about and watching youtube videos, here is what I think are the exact prerequisites:

1. A level 3 shipyard
2. Having unlocked Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба
3. having the Чертеж оборудования: призрачная подзорная труба actually EQUIPPED on a ship
4. Clear treasure missions on the southwest and northeast waters

After having met these 4 criteria, I found myself getting a ring rare mission the next day, the second one following up a couple of days later.

The same applies to the missions for Кольцо преданности адмирала Тейлора and Печатка Третьего флота.

Despite the page here saying that the classes this can be won by are Paladins, Warriors, and DKs, I got this mission and completed it as a discipline priest. I’m hoping I can still get the Печатка Третьего флота with the same character.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I for one find it ridiculous that between Dense Fog and Icy Water this is the only mission of value if you subtract the missions that your faction can’t get (I.E. Zangar Sea for Horde). And, of course, Alliance gets the advantage. Not saying it doesn’t make sense that this has Dense Fog, but that there really should be an Icy Water equivalent for balance sake.

I failed this mission with a 98% success chance.

I used a Carrier (Counters Battleship) with a Human crew (Increases Success Chance)
equipped with both a True Iron Rudder (Counters Evasive) and a Ghostly Spyglass
(Counters Cursed Crew). This ship completely takes care of «The Last Wish» battleship
encounter.

My second ship was a Destroyer (Counters Submarine) with a Human Crew (Increases
Success Chance) equipped with both a Felsmoke Launcher (Counters First Strike) and
a Ghostly Spyglass (Counters Cursed Crew). This ship completely counters the other
ship «The Shiv».

The only thing I could not counter was the Dense Fog, but having two human crew
members gave me the extra success chance bringing me to 98%. I certainly expected
to win with those odds and was very disappointed after waiting 2 days to find out
that wasn’t good enough.

Maybe using two Pandaren Crew members would raise the chance to 100% since this
is a «long» mission.

After doing some more looking around I see that a Draenic Crew counters Dense Fog.
Using a Draenic crew member on either of your ships should solve the problem of
100% mission success, allowing you to have any crew member on the other ship. An
elf crew on the other ship (for example) should cut your mission time from 2 days to 1 day.

Edit: Modified paragraph to no longer say Panda crews «long mission» is greater than 2 days,
thanks to Amatir’s reply to my original post. Supposedly a «long mission» is 18 hours or more.

I got this mission to 100% using the following ship setup:

The Awakener: equipped with True Iron Rudder and Ghostly Spyglass

For the second ship just use any ship that has Draenic Crew and equip that ship with Felsmoke Launcher and Ghostly Spyglass.

I just wonder if I need to clean all the treasure missions every day to have a better chance to get this one, or if it’s completely random, and I just have to check the mission table every day to see is the mission is there.

Up until about a month ago I still had never seen any of the heirloom ring missions. I have only one level 100 character but I had done missions with him pretty much every day. By that time I had completed the mission for Left Shark at least six times. I tried to read up on it and there are some various theories on what is required. The main claims seems to be these requirements:

Level 3 shipyard
At least 675 item level on character
At least 675 item level on garrison followers
Equipment blueprint: Ghostly Spyglass

I’m pretty sure I have fulfilled the first three more or less since the patch 6.2 went live. Hard to be sure this long after. But I had not bothered to collect the blueprint. So now I went over to Tanaan, found Captain Ironbeard, killed him and got my blueprint.

Now as any story like this mine is all anecdotal and some will claim it’s only RNG at play but the first week after getting the blueprint I got my first mission for an heirloom ring and now I have successfully completed all three of them. I don’t know about the first three requirements but I do believe you need the blueprint or the heirloom ring missions won’t spawn.

I have been researching this mission since I have been having trouble getting it to pop. After doing all the requirements it takes to open the possibility of receiving this mission, it looks like you need to keep the top right and bottom left corners of the map clear of as many missions as possible, because apparently For Hate’s Sake only has a chance of appearing in these two areas if there is room to do so; so if there are already too many missions in these two areas, it most likely won’t appear on top of them.

After figuring this out (hopefully) and doing this for a few weeks, it appeared in the top right corner for me. A few of my guild members also followed this and the mission appeared for them soon after too. If there are too many missions in both corners to deal with, I would try to keep the top right clear the most. Because most of the people I know say they have found it in the top right corner, and Wowhead also has its location set in the top right corner. But I have heard of it appearing in the bottom left as well, so I figure better safe than sorry. I hope this might help someone else get this mission to appear for them as well.

So, TLDR, it looks like the more clear the map is of missions in the top right and bottom left corner, the more chances of For Hate’s Sake appearing.

To get this quest started, you need to loot the trasure map of the Murlocs running around closeby where the Old Jug quest starts, just on the beach. Then follow it quick till the end.

Listen! I just got my shirt along with all ‘the spoils’ -.-

Go to that ship wreck on the west side of Westfall.
Kill the Murlocks ON the ship, 1 of them will drop the quest for Captain Sander’s shirt. Just follow the questline, it took me 5 min @ lvl 20.

If you did this quest ages ago and deleted the shirt by now, dont panic.
You still have chance to have it.

Open restoration ticket and ask game master to restore it.
As this quest have no «choose one» option for rewards, they will restore it.
But be sure to mention that in your ticket.

It seems really risky to send ships on missions that you can’t 100% especially epic ships. Gone are the days of doing missions just for the incremental xp gains. The shipyard seems like it’ll be slow-going for a long time because of this.

I’d like to mention, for historical accuracy sake, that the blueprints that you need in order to get counter-measures for your ships were quests, that were in fact shareable until a hotfix today (24, June, 2015) that has removed the ability to do so.

I should know, I shared it with approximately 500 people over the course of the two hours immediately after finding out that it could be shared.

I hope all those folks enjoy my gift to them.

I don’t mess with the shipyard too much, simply because I hate seeing ships get destroyed. Imagine if you sent your followers out on a mission and they got killed on it?

I am generating oil at an unspendable rate, i really see potential for a mount here.. I mean any helicopter, rocket or plane-like mount would be perfect for this, even a boat for getting accross water bodies. I could see the oil cap being raised and a series of mounts could be added so that there is something to work towards with the oil currency.

I hope my prayers will be answered.

Note that with the quality of life improvements just made to shipyards, they are well worth doing now. From Baleful pieces (that can proc up to 695), to all the Sorcerous, to all the gold, they give all the rewards pretty much for free once you have an Oil Rig set up.

Tons of oil and no way to spend. Those who are running out of oil be sure you are not going on useless missions. Once you have max leveled your ships there is no use in spending the oil on the the missions that reward xps. I have focused on using nets to capitalize on fishing though as this can be good source of income.(assuming you spend the time to auction) I wish i could change oil into garrison supplies as this is what i have a problem keeping on hand since i try to swap out the ships slots with nets whenever i can. The constant changing of these slots eats up a ton of resources.To offset this i have focused the usage of the garrison inn that allows specifying of wanted traits in followers. I have all of them focused on double gold or double resources and this works out great.
